  • Closing Date: 12 noon, 18th March 2011
  • Salary: £36,000 - £40,000, depending on skills and experience

The South Downs National Park Authority is an exciting, new organisation that aims to look after the National Park and help people learn about and enjoy the area. We also have an important role to support the local communities that live and work here.

We will become fully operational in April 2011 and are looking for talented individuals to take this important work forward. We are committed to creating a modern, flexible organisation that works through partnership and supports local action.

We are now looking to recruit a Procurement, Premises and ICT Manager who will ensure that all aspects of the Authority’s estates, contracts, facilities management and ICT support the Authority’s core business processes and equip the Authority to deliver its strategic objectives.

With a role covering three vital areas, the successful candidate will take overall responsibility for ensuring that the Authority has appropriate support in the areas of procurement, premises and ICT.

The successful candidate will:

  • lead procurement for the Authority, managing and negotiating contracts and service level agreements with external service providers to ensure the cost effective and high quality delivery of services to the Authority.
  • manage all of the Authority’s premises, ensuring the requisite facilities management services are in place. This will include a major refurbishment and relocation project. The post holder will also ensure that environmental sustainability is incorporated fully into the Authority’s buildings, operations and contracts.
  • will lead the development and operation of a comprehensive ICT service for the Authority using the services of a third party provider.

As the Authority’s lead on three key areas, the ability to provide comprehensive professional advice and support within these areas, including tackling difficult problems of a technical, professional, resource or people related nature is essential.
This ability to challenge existing practices and identify innovative solutions to service delivery is also essential.

The successful candidate must have a professional qualification or degree relevant to either management, procurement or ICT (OR equivalent level of experience) and experience of managing premises at a senior level is required.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, the ability to understand new legislation and guidance and translate it into practice. The ability to build and maintain relationships, influence actions by others and negotiate effective business solutions is essential.

If you think that you can add real value to this role and meet the personal specification (attached below) then we would like to hear from you.
