HOURS OF WORK: 36 hours per week (net)

JOB DETAILS:

Kew is the world-leader in plant diversity science, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a major visitor attraction, that shows the importance of plants in all our lives. Kew’s mission is to inspire and deliver science-based plant conservation worldwide, enhancing the quality of life. 

The EU Framework 7 pro-iBiosphere infrastructure project is a consortium between Kew and seven other European partners. RBG Kew leads Work Package 6, which aims to understand how biodiversity information, particularly that held in Floras and Faunas is produced, used and how it can be sustainably delivered.

Reporting to the pro-iBiosphere WP6 Leader, and liaising with scientists at Kew and other natural history institutions, you will provide support to this project. You will assist in the development of business model case studies by interviewing, gathering and collating information, preparing reports and attending project meetings. You will also be involved in the analysis of business models for sustainable delivery of floristic publications and services. The role will also involve some marking up of  floristic texts to pilot some processes within the project.

With a degree in a biological subject and exceptional MS Office skills, you will have familiarity with biological (taxonomic) research methods and outputs, along with experience of gathering information from a wide range of stakeholders. Good communication skills are essential as is the ability to meet deadlines and analyse project results.

Salary is from £22,056 per annum and benefits include 30 days holiday per year, a choice of pensions, a flexible benefits scheme as well as a great working environment.
