Vestas Technology R&D Americas, Inc.

Functional Area:
"The Electrical systems department is Vestas’ centre of know-how within the area of electrical design of the wind turbines. The department consists of 4 sub-departments handling design within Generator & Transformer, Electronics, Converters and Controller System Layout.
We are responsible of designing the electrical system in new turbines and maintaining the old turbines
Essential Functions:
  • The Pro Cabling mechatronics engineer’s role covers routing cables inside the wind turbine
  • The Pro/E mechatronics engineer’s role covers layout of electrical cabinets.
  • Co-operate with Project members on dimensional management, volume of control and volume of activity, interfaces in layout issues for the electrical system.
  • The Pro/E Designer works in close co-operation with design engineers, Module Responsible and/or the Project Manager to meet the deliverables.
  • The task deliverables are documents according to the Vestas Way to Market process. The basic deliverables are Pro/E models, drawings and Bill of Materials as well as generation of parts and family tables.
  • Participate and support in modeling and validation of prototypes.
  • Documentation and modeling updates on existing designs.
  • Engineering Change
Educational Requirements:
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical or Mechanical
Minimum Requirements
  • 5 years experience
  • Product design skills
  • Concept development to detail design)
  • Pro/E expertise, Intralink and PDM-link
  • Basic knowledge on AutoCAD and other CAD packages
  • MS Office
  • Fluency in English and good communication skills
  • Ability to work well in team environment as well as independently
  • Domestic and international travel
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required
Desired:
 
· Six Sigma–DfSS Experience
· Experience in Engineering Change Management
· Experience in Infor XA
· Design FMEA
· Pro Cabling expertise
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
