To support our growth we require flexible, dynamic and adaptable people who want be part of our organisation at an exciting and stimulating time.  Working with a team of policy analysts and technical specialists, these individuals will win, manage and deliver climate change policy contracts for a range of clients.

 Key accountabilities:

Specific requirements of the role are to undertake a range of activities depending on business needs, including:

• Lead and deliver complex pieces of policy research and consultancy focused on climate change policy issues;

• Use quantitative and qualitative methods to assess the potential impacts of climate change policies and strategies;

• Lead and provide written content and technical analysis for use in the preparation of bids and reports, including detailed proposals and expressions of interest, and present these at bid interview;

• Take responsibility for the management of customer projects to achieve delivery within agreed budgets, timescales and quality requirements;

• Lead teams on projects and delegate to, and provide support and guidance to, less experienced colleagues;

• Contribute to business development activities, including developing positive relationships with customers and potential customers

Experience and core competencies required

• Experience of climate change policy consultancy or policy delivery within the public sector delivered in an international context, either in-country or for an international agency;

• Detailed and up to date knowledge of relevant climate change mitigation and/or adaptation policies at an international level, preferably working with international agencies, financial institutions (World Bank etc) or national governments;

• Experience of developing project proposals and engaging with funding bodies;

• Experience of using policy analysis tools such as cost effectiveness analysis, cost benefit analysis and multi-criteria analysis;

• Strong project management experience, including projects and proposals;

• Effective oral, presentation and written communication skills;

• Effective and proactive team worker, capable of supporting and developing peers and subordinates through effective delegation;

• Highly numerate, logical and analytical;

• Fully conversant with commonly used business software, e.g. Microsoft Office, internet, email plus any relevant specialist software;

• A Degree (preferably Science, Economics, Engineering or Law) or an equivalent level of education
