EnviroCentre are currently looking for an experienced water engineer/hydrologist to work within a well established and friendly water team based in Glasgow.

The role will have responsibility for the delivery of technical hydrology studies, the provision of expert advice on hydrology and guidance on hydraulic modelling relating to all aspects of fluvial flood risk including combined tidal, estuarine and pluvial models.

The role requires experience in:

  • Flood risk assessment, modelling and mapping to clients
  • Developing and running 1D & 2D hydraulic models
  • Hydrology support to Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Engineering
  • Hydrological and hydrogeological assessments
  • Flood Risk Planning policy, Controlled Activities Regulations and SuDS
  • Project management
  • Client liaison and liaison with statutory authorities/regulators
  • Report writing and reviewing

You will have more than 7 years experience and be educated to BEng/MEng in civil/water engineering or BSc/MSc in a related discipline with a further qualification in hydrology.  A background in civil / geotechnical engineering or geomorphology would be beneficial but not essential.

You must possess the drive and ability to market your consultancy skills and win projects, as well as having proven project management capabilities.  The role will also involve regularly liaising with both clients and regulatory bodies and therefore a good client focus is essential.

Although based within the water sector, there would be the opportunity to work closely with other environmental disciplines such as ecology and environmental assessment.
