1. PRINCIPAL RESEARCH OFFICER (1 POSITION)
Qualification and experience
. Holder of a PhD degree in Wildlife Science, Zoology, Biology, Botany,
Veterinary Science or any related discipline from a recognized Institution.
. A research/field experience of not less than two years in wildlife or
related field after PhD degree.
. Must have published at least three scientific publications in local and
international journals after PhD degree.
. Report and proposal writing skills are an added advantage
. Must be a Tanzanian citizen not more than 45 years old. Main duties and
responsibilities:
. Carrying out independent research
. Plan, develop, implement and coordinate TAWIRI research activities . Supervision
of TAWIRI projects as well as those being undertaken by registered local
and foreign scientists.
. Undertake training of both scientific and technical staff
. Participate in research activities of the Institute and dissemination
of results in collaboration with other local and foreign scientists
. Preparing reports of ongoing/completed research projects
. Participate in development and evaluation of research programmes of the
Institute or research projects
. Perform any other duties assigned by the Director General
Salary: PRSS 18 (Tshs 2,249,550 x 79,570 per month)
2. PRINCIPAL RESEARCH ASSITANT (1 POSITION)
. Form IV or VI with ordinary Diploma in Wildlife Management, Forestry or
Beekeeping from a recognised training Institution.
. A minimum working/research experience of not less than six years.
. Responsible for managing and coordinating research activities as directed
by the principal investigators of local and foreign funded research projects.
. Prepare reports of ongoing and completed research projects.
. Participate in research activities of the institute.
. Participate in dissemination of research results.
. Supervise junior research assistants.
. Perform any other duties assigned.
Salary: PGSS 12 - 13 (Tshs 608,130 x 20,100 or 695,240 x 24,130 depending
on qualification and experience)
