This is a full-time position with competitive compensation commensurate with experience and includes vacation, medical, and 401(k) benefits. Applicants must be available for in-person interviews, must be able to provide their own transportation, possess a valid driver's license, and live (or be willing to relocate) within driving distance of our newly relocated Pittsburgh office. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, conduct, and report archaeological investigations
  • Coordinate and assist clients with regulatory compliance
  • Coordinate field crews and logistics for all types of archaeological projects
  • Develop methodology and research designs for all types of archaeological projects
  • Synthesize background research, methodology, results, and all other pertinent information into reports and deliverables to be reviewed by agencies
  • Market Skelly and Loy to new and existing clients
 REQUIRED
  • Graduate degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or closely related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience at the Principal Investigator level
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting lithic analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to carry research to completion with strong organizational, technical communication, and writing skills
  • Working knowledge of Section 106 and other pertinent cultural resource regulations (e.g., NAGPRA, ARPA, state guidelines) as well as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
  • Demonstrated ability to meet budget and schedule requirements
  • Experience in Eastern United States culture history (Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, and New York
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship
 DESIRED
  • Registered Professional Archaeologist
  • Statistical analysis, technical knowledge of GIS
  • Association with and membership in national, regional, and state professional organizations (e.g., SAA, SHA, SIA, PAC)
  • Holds or has the ability to obtain a security clearance
