Principal Flood Management Specialist, Edinburgh

Our client has been at the forefront of the water and coastal sector with their activities encompassing the complete water cycle. Their clients include developers, contractors, water companies, industry, regulators and agencies. They deliver solutions through integrated teams of water scientists, engineers and environmentalists focused on the needs of their clients.

They are looking to recruit a Principal Flood Management Specialist to join the team in Edinburgh.

You will provide guidance and authority in the areas of flood management and sustainable drainage. You will project manage the flood protection and flood risk projects. Managing a dedicated team involved in this work, you will liaise with other flood management centres.

Qualifications & Experience

You will have British hydrology and River Modelling experience. Flood risk assessment and Flood protection experience is essential. You will have sound project management skills and good Team Leader experience. You will have an honours level Masters/PhD or equivalent. You will also have Corporate level ICE oe CIWEM membership.

Skills which are also desirable for this role are 2D modeling techniques applied to watercourse and urban drainage situations, strategic flood risk assessment, surfacewater/stormwater management planning, pipe systems modelling, coastal processes and dynamics and EIA. Also current involvement and contacts within the British Flood Management Sector are desirable.
