Principal Ecologist

ADAS, part of the RSK Group, is seeking an experienced Principal Ecologist to join our highly skilled ecology team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a hybrid office and home working position based in Cambridge.

Key Responsibilities

• Working together with our Associate Director for the South East to ensure high quality service is delivered to our clients
• Managing the team of ecologists based at Boxworth
• Managing projects from inception to finalisation
• Talking to our clients and providing solid technical advice
• Writing of technical reports including but not limited to, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, Ecological Impact Assessments, Mitigation Strategies and Biodiversity Management Plans, Habitat Regulations Assessments Screening reports and protected species reports
• Technical review and approval of reports

Person Specification

• Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle and living within a commutable distance of our Boxworth office in Cambridge
• Associate Level CIEEM membership or above
• Demonstrable experience of ecological consultancy work, including leading surveys and managing projects 
• Good working knowledge of ecology, legislation, and survey techniques, including protected species surveys and mitigation
• Previous ecology-related experience
• Graduate-level education in a relevant subject
• Excellent written communication skills and be able to produce accurate technical reports to a professional standard

Salary and Benefits

• Up to £45,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience
