Principal Ecologist - Edinburgh

Our client is a world leading interdisciplinary engineering consultancy working across the globe on various projectsThe last year has seen growth of the business up by 40%. One of their umbrella companies; a well established planning and environmental consultancy is looking for a Senior/Principal Ecologist to work from their Edinburgh office.You will be managing projects (with P&L emphasis), liaise and advise clients and also manage the production of bids.

Other duties will include

·         Undertake ecological surveys, impact assessments and providing advice to clients on complex ecological issues

·         Mentor junior staff.

·         Produce licence applications, including developing mitigation and monitoring

·         Undertake/supervise mitigation and monitoring licensed work; liaise with statutory authorities

·          Design research projects; contribute to the development of best practice with respect to training and survey standards.

• Responsibility for Quality management of project

• Degree or equivalent in relevant science/ecology field
• Full member of IEEM
• In-depth knowledge of ecological principles, legislation and EcIA
• Good communication skills and commercial awareness
• Survey/Development licence.
• Full driving license
• Chartered Environmentalist or similar would be an advantage
