Overview

As a part of our specialist offering, we have a strong Ecology team who support a diverse range of projects across a number of sectors both within the UK and internationally for both private and public sector clients. The team pride themselves on the integrated support we offer by working alongside our in-house water, landscape and sustainability specialists to deliver commercially balanced, innovative and integrated solutions. As of January 2017, our ecology team will comprise 66 people and as such will be one of the larger teams in the UK.

We are currently looking to recruit an Associate Director or Technical Director to join the team in our Cardiff office.

A typical week would include:

  1. Lead our Cardiff team and support a growing workload in south Wales.
  2. The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for and provide leadership to our small but fast growing ecology team in Cardiff.
  3. Be involved in generating opportunities, preparation of bids and winning work for the team.
  4. Over-see the delivery and management of a range of ecological deliverables (technical, commercial and financial) in support of our client’s projects.
  5. Active role in assuring quality of output and mentoring junior staff.
  6. The post holder will play a key role within a growing ecology team, helping to nurture an enthusiastic, supportive and productive working environment.

We’d love to hear from you if have:

  • Significant and demonstrable experience gained within a professional consultancy;
  • An enthusiastic, confident and positive approach with excellent communication and project and people management skills;
  • Experience across a range of habitats and protected species and will hold (or have held) survey and mitigation licences;
  • A proven record of supporting clients through devising and delivering survey programmes, developing pragmatic, cost-effective mitigation, gaining the agreement of regulators and supervising implementation on-site;
  • Extensive experience of Ecological Impact Assessment and writing Environmental Statement chapters;
  • A proven record of winning work from commercial clients, particularly in the residential, mixed use and industrial sectors;
  • Full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management and have or be able to demonstrate that you are working towards Chartered Ecologist status.
