Principal Ecologist

We are looking to recruit a Principal Ecologist in our Edinburgh office to manage the projects and staff that are managed out of this office as part of the Environmental and Natural Resources Sector within URS/Scott Wilson.

You will be expected to provide specialist advice to public and private sector clients on a variety of projects. Examples include contributing to EIAs for road and railway improvement schemes, undertaking tests of likely significance under the Habitats directive and providing information to support planning applications for development projects and contributing to master plans.

This post also involves managing staff, writing bids and reports, generating client contacts and providing technical advice.

About You
You should have at least a first degree in a relevant subject and have significant post graduate experience in ecology to be able to take up this challenge as well as experience managing a team. You should have or be eligible for, full membership of IEEM and will ideally be chartered.

You will need to have an understanding of ecological principals within a Scottish context and have the ability to work with a range of disciplines to enable the team to provide specialist advice to public and private sector clients
