We carry out a wide range of bespoke planning and environmental assessments – everything from air quality monitoring, ecology surveys, options studies, Environmental Statement reviews, through to expert witness support in relation to aviation noise.

We are seeking energetic, enthusiastic and experienced Project Managers (Principal Consultant or Associate Director grade) to work within our Infrastructure portfolio, managing environmental professional services contracts for infrastructure projects (particularly construction). The right candidates will also help to grow our business in this area.

The Roles

The positions are for enthusiastic and motivated Principal Consultants or Associate Directors who will take on Project Management roles within our Infrastructure portfolio.

Applicants need to be client focused with a positive and proactive attitude, excellent communication skills and happy to work as part of a team. They must have demonstrable project management experience that is transferrable to professional services contracts on infrastructure projects.

The role/s will be based in our Major Programmes team and work closely with our EIA Infrastructure team and Project Management Office. They will also work with other specialist business units (including Acoustics, Air Quality, Digital Delivery, Ecology and Construction Environmental Management) and a wide range of external partners to deliver across a range of projects.

The successful candidate(s) will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of Project Management and a proven track record of managing and leading multidisciplinary teams, on time and on budget.

They will also be expected to have excellent report writing, communication and client liaison skills with a keen eye for detail. They will have a positive attitude towards business development and to assisting with the training / mentoring of junior members of the team.

The Candidates

We expect the successful candidates will:

  • have 8+ years of professional experience
  • relevant and transferrable experience of project management for professional services, preferably in consultancy
  • demonstrable client-facing and project delivery experience
  • demonstrable experience with project contracts and commercial management
  • demonstrable experience managing development projects
  • good understanding of and experience with MS Excel
  • show initiative, have a strong work ethic and be organised, flexible and motivated
  • be confident, enthusiastic and outgoing with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, having the ability to liaise at all levels
  • be degree educated

The successful candidate/s will preferably demonstrate one or more of the following:

  • an interest in environmental planning/management and/or sustainability
  • advanced project management qualifications, such as APM PMQ, Prince2 Practitioner etc.
  • a track record of delivering successfully to clients in transport infrastructure
  • experience with NEC contracts
  • people management experience
  • advanced MS Excel skills
  • excellent report writing skills
