A leading environmental consultancy with offices nationwide, working on a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects in an international market place are seeking a Principal Air Quality Consultant to grow a team in their Hampshire or Surrey office.

The Job

The Principal Air Quality Consultant will be responsible for starting a new air quality team in the office of their choice. The successful candidate will be joining a busy and diverse wider air quality group where projects range from small, single source dispersion modelling studies, through complex, multi-source industrial impact assessments to air quality impact assessments of major residential developments.

The successful candidate will be Degree/MSc qualified in a relevant environmental discipline, have a consultancy background and experience of dispersion modelling of roads and point sources using ADMS and/or AERMOD, as well as project management and business development.

Duties:

• Responsible for winning and delivering air quality projects.
• Production and delivery of business plan for relevant office.
• Project management of team work load.
• Business development for air quality and wider environmental planning services group within the south.
• Undertaking and delivery of Air Quality Assessments and associated dispersion modelling.
• Production of quotes and tenders.
• Development of client relationships and input into team marketing strategy.
• Mentoring of junior staff.

Requirements:

• Willingness to assume responsibility for the development of air quality within the south.
• A background in air quality consultancy experience.
• Atmospheric science or environmental based degree.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
• Able to manage own projects from initial proposal to final invoice.
• Knowledge of standard methodologies for assessment of roads, industrial and dust emissions.
• Membership of a relevant professional body: Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM) or Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
• Experience of business development/marketing.
• A full driving licence is required
