CERCOPAN (Centre for Education, Research and Conservation of Primates and Nature: www.cercopan.org) is recruiting for a Sanctuary Manager to start asap. This voluntary position is based at our busy Calabar primate rehabilitation centre in southern Nigeria. The successful candidate will support the Director to manage Calabar operations in collaboration with the Head keeper, Education Officer and Veterinary nurse. We are looking for someone highly organised with excellent writing and financial skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible, amicable and dedicated with a positive outlook. They must also have the ability to cope well under stress and to readily master new skills. This is an excellent opportunity for those wishing to make a contribution to primate conservation. Duties include: - Accounting, financial management, financial reporting and projections - Line management of all Calabar local staff - Writing blogs, newsletters, proposals and reports - General administration - Logistics and supply management - Assisting with captive management of orphan primates and captive care of 120 primates - Acting as Deputy to the Director Essential: - Applicants must have considerable experience managing finances - Educated to degree level, preferably in management, accounting or communications. - Staff management experience - - Interest in Conservation/Primates - Driving licence Desired: - Masters degree in relevant subject -Experience working and living in developing countries Provisions: Room, board, visas, flights and a local stipend will be paid for a 2 year contract. Insurance etc. and vaccinations are the responsibility of the volunteer.
