Description

The Zoological Society of London is a charity dedicated to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats. Through our captive breeding programmes and our scientific research and conservation work in the field, we are making a vital difference in the fight to save species from extinction.

We are looking for someone to join our busy Press Office based in Regent’s Park, London. This enthusiastic and resourceful team member will focus on the field conservation work of ZSL, along with the scientific research carried out by our Institute of Zoology.

A keen interest in conservation and/or science is beneficial, but an eye for a story and the ability to make complex concepts understandable is the real key.

Educated to degree level with demonstrated experience in journalism or PR, you will be confident in dealing with journalists from the national and international press, TV and radio. You will need a keen news sense, a proven track record in spotting and shaping stories, and be used to working to tight deadlines and with multiple partners. Experience of working with specialist trade publications (including science, conservation and business) is highly desirable. Excellent communication and organisational skills together with a flexible approach are necessary. A full driving licence is desirable.
