Description
TEAM PURPOSE: To work with the media to influence decision makers, opinion formers and supporters in order to campaign against poverty and injustice. The Oxfam Media Unit is a high performing team which is at the heart of achieving the organisation's campaigning ambitions. We work closely with colleagues in the UK and overseas to develop media strategies, while grabbing opportunities for coverage of our concerns whenever they arise. Press Officers at Oxfam are expected to inspire confidence in their professional judgement, to influence senior colleagues and must want to be part of a high profile, fast moving team.

The Economic Justice campaign covers climate change, trade, the private sector and agriculture and is an exciting and challenging area on which to work. The media officers on the campaign are responsible for delivering hard hitting press coverage on climate change that establishes Oxfam as an authoritative voice, shows how poor people are suffering first and worst, and influences the ongoing negotiations on climate finance.

JOB PURPOSE: To generate high quality media coverage of Oxfam's campaigns and its development and humanitarian work.
