Bird Studies Canada (BSC) is a national charitable organization dedicated to advancing the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of wild birds and their habitats through research, monitoring, "Citizen Science," and education.

We are currently seeking applicants for the position of President, located at our National Headquarters in Port Rowan, Ontario.

The President, under the general direction of the Board and its policies, provides strategic and operational leadership to BSC. He/she provides counsel and advice to the Board and directs the staff in all aspects of BSC's science, conservation, and education programs and projects, and in administration and financial management. The President is the senior representative for BSC in a wide range of fora including at national and international levels. The position requires scientific knowledge, leadership ability, business acumen, communications skills, managerial skills, and high interrelational skills.

The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. or equivalent in a field related to nature conservation. He/she must have demonstrated experience in research and applied conservation and stewardship. In addition, the successful applicant must have extensive program and personnel management experience at a senior level.
