Description

The all-new Cape Eleuthera Island School Early Learning Center seeks a full-time assistant teacher. The assistant will work alongside the Head Teacher with children ages 2 to 6 years old in a multi-age classroom. This position requires a candidate that is enthusiastic, compassionate and comfortable working with young children in a play-based learning environment.

The Candidate will be expected to:

  • Supervise and engage children ages 2-6 years in activities and routines including reading stories, mealtimes, and facilitating play
  • Assist with classroom setup and cleanup daily
  • Follow all health and safety rules while supervising children
  • Keep classroom and equipment clean, safe, and attractive
  • Assist with toileting and diapering
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with children, staff, and parents
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for children

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years working with young children
  • Work experience
  • Clean background check with no criminal history
  • Flexibility, reliability, and good work ethic
  • Willingness to work in natural environment
  • Enjoy being outdoors

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years teaching in a group setting
  • Preschool Teaching Credentials (certificate or AA)
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Experience working across cultures
  • Knowledge of Bahamian culture and history

Compensation:

This is a full-time, year round position with specific, scheduled vacation.  Compensation and benefits include a monthly salary, medical insurance, and meals.  We are a Bahamian Equal Opportunity Employer.
