Predator Research Assistants

This project is looking for Volunteer Research Assistants for an investigation into the scale and nature of human-wildlife conflict and crop raiding  

on commercial farms, as well as assessing local perceptions and tolerance towards wildlife. The main tasks will be to evaluate mitigation  

strategies, mainly through behavioural observations of primates on farms and data entry. However, other tasks may be required, including crop  

damage assessment surveys, group counts, camera trapping and environmental education.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside an experienced team of field biologists and gain valuable field work experience. All research equipment will be provided.

There are no program fees but participants needs to cover accommodation and food expenses. Accommodation with kitchen facilities and internet  access costs ZAR 4,500 per month (approx. 270 GB / 310 Euros). Reduced rent offered to long-term volunteers (3 months+).
