ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Precision Restoration Project Coordinator will work with a team of researchers who are focused on increasing success of native perennial vegetation restoration on annual grass-prone sagebrush rangeland.  Successful applicant will have primary responsibility for field implementation of research designed to test the efficacy of seed coating technologies for overcoming ecological barriers to restoration.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Applying seed coatings
  • Planting treated seeds in experimental plots
  • Leading data collection efforts, including managing seasonal employees
  • Data entry and preparation of data summaries

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in science-related field and 1 year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite software. 
  • Experience managing databases and producing reports.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects and managing timeframes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in science-related field and 1 year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Prior field experience required.
  • Knowledge of sagebrush ecosystems and plant communities.
  • Database management skills including report production.
  • Completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
  • Managing and prioritizing tasks from multiple sources.
  • Working knowledge of common software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Web browsers). 
  • Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.

 

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with the Conservancy's Auto Safety Program.  Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers."  Please see further details in the Auto Safety Program document available at www.nature.org/careers. 

Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.
