Description

Come and join us in giving nature a home on Hazeley Heath Reserve by restoring it to rare lowland heath habitat. The birds, flowers and insects that rely on the open habitat of the heath are being threatened by scrub encroachment, bracken and invasive plants. We need your help to cut, pull, rake, bash and burn so we can give Hazeley's wildlife an even better home.

You'll be part of a small dedicated and friendly team, who love to chat as much as they enjoy volunteering outdoors. It's a great opportunity to learn more about running a reserve, build new skills and make a genuine contribution to conserving wildlife. If you are looking to build a career in the sector, this could be a great first step or if you are simply looking for something different, then do come and have a go.

You don't need any special practical skills to join our volunteer team, just lots of enthusiasm and a willingness to muck in and have a go. You'll need to be happy being on your feet, working outdoors and able to use handtools.

We will provide all the tools you need and training on how to use them.

All we ask is that you can commit to one or two days a month. The reserve work party team, meet on the 3rd Sunday of every month and regularly each Wednesday.
