This extremely specialist and well respected department are looking to strengthen their existing team by recruiting a number of Power System Engineers into the Netherlands office.Working closely with the European Space Agency the successful candidate will be assigned the function of Power Engineer to the Power and Energy Conversion Division, providing specialist support in power electronics to one or more spacecraft projects and in the preparation, monitoring and guidance of applied research contracts in the field of power conditioning.Typically, task could include:
System analysis, trade-offs and simulations as needed for assessing the power system performance and interactions with other spacecraft systems
Laboratory breadboarding and testing as needed
Contributing to project design reviews
Supporting feasibility and project definition studies
Supporting R&D/Technology development
Providing power conditioning specialist support to studies and approved ESA projects, including payload equipment
Applicants must hold a valid work permit for the Netherlands or are EU nationals and will have a degree in a relevant discipline, together with:
A power electronics background, circuit design analysis capability and good experience of digital and analogue electronics and control theory
Experience in power electronics equipment design
Knowledge of energy storage and solar generator concepts and technologies
Computer model development experience
Experience working with spacecraft power conditioning equipment
