Description

My client is a global leader and top ten manufacturer within the wind sector who deliver projects via partnerships with project development companies on a world wide scale. They are looking for a talented Power Marketer to lead the project development department in all power marketing efforts throughout the USA.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Project Development, you will be responsible for every aspect concerning power marketing and will identify and negotiate power sale contracts both by responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and directly approaching power purchasers.

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Develop and maintain key relationships with utilities and power purchasers
  • ·         Prepare responses to RFPs
  • ·         Build and maintain customer database and contact tracking system
  • ·         Analyze Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) opportunities for near-term projects
  • ·         Analyze the impact of current and potential national RPS market rules on near-term projects
  • ·         Lead / participate in PPA negotiations
  • ·         Examine market trends and identify new customers and customer needs
  • ·         Undertake Power market research for strategic planning

Education:-

  • ·         Must have a strong academic background with a degree in either Electrical Engineering or Business

Core Requirements:-

  • ·         Must have 5+ years of energy sales and marketing experience  
  • ·         Demonstrated record of success closing energy transactions
  • ·         Comprehensive knowledge of energy markets, with emphasis on renewable energy
  • ·         Excellent knowledge of power purchase agreements, electrical transmission, wheeling power, regulatory policies, pooled markets and grid ancillary services
  • ·         Willingness to travel up to 50% of time when necessary
  • ·         Possess a valid USA Drivers License
  • ·         The capability of becoming a key contributor in a complex environment
  • ·         Exceptional negotiation skills

General Requirements:-

  • ·         Ability to work alone as well as part of a team
  • ·         The ability to manage workload and meet demanding timescales on a number of projects simultaneously
