The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) located at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Golden, Colorado is the nation’s primary laboratory for research, development and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. NREL's National Bioenergy Center will collaborate with a Scientist/ Engineer who is on leave from their home institution. Participant's home institution will pay all expenses. (New Zealand Scion).
Collaborations related to an analysis of various ratios of coal and biomass feedstocks to transport fuels. Elements of scale will be very important as well as analysis. A potential scenario of transitioning from coal to biomass is made difficult by the location of our coal resources, but this is all part of the analysis. Other routes to drop in fuels are also of interest.
Must be a recent PhD graduate within the last three years.
PhD Mechlanical Engineering, esxerience in energy systems design.
