Postdoctoral Fellow - Economist, Climate Change Adaptation

 Join a high-performing team of social and economic scientists

CSIRO is offering a Postdoctoral Fellowship to work in the Social and Economic Sciences Program of CSIRO Sustainable Ecosystems and the Climate Adaptation National Research Flagship. We are seeking a motivated researcher to join a high-performing team of social and economic scientists to design, conduct and publish original and innovative research on questions of adaptation to climate change. 

Specifically you will:
 


  • Plan and implement research with other team members, internal and external clients
  • Publish high-impact, peer-reviewed research in international scientific journals
  • Contribute to a dynamic, innovative and effective research team
  • Contribute to the organizational goals of the research group, the Social and Economic Sciences Program and CSIRO Ecosystem Sciences


Location: Canberra, ACT

Salary: $73K-$82K plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Tenure: 3 year team

**Note that to be eligible for consideration for appointment to a Post Doctoral fellowship within CSIRO an applicant’s total relevant work experience, on completion of the fellowship at CSIRO, must not exceed six full-time equivalent years since confirmation of their doctorate. 
To be successful you will have :
 


  • A PhD in a field of economics relevant to questions of climate change adaptation. Relevant contexts may include the built environment / urban sustainability through to natural resource management / policy
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete research characterized by originality, creativity and innovation and evidenced by a track record in peer-reviewed publications.
  • Ability to effectively engage with internal CSIRO clients and external clients (research agency, government and industry partners) to negotiate, design and conduct research.
  • Enter Criteria Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
