The Joint Global Change Research Institute (JGCRI) seeks a Post Doctoral Fellow to focus on the development and use of JGCRI’s integrated assessment (IA) modeling tools and associated research. The candidate may, among other things, contribute to research in agriculture and land-use modeling, energy system modeling, energy technology analysis, international and national climate policy analysis, bioenergy and biofuels policy, or the impacts of climate change on energy, agriculture and the economy. The candidate can engage in these research areas either through knowledge of the application area or through model code development. Minimum Requirements Candidates must have received a PhD within the past five years from an accredited college or university. All staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States. Qualifications – The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in engineering, economics, operations research, management science, computer science, or related field. Minimum GPA of 3.5 Background in integrated assessment or energy economic computer modeling is highly desirable. Computer programming may not be the primary responsibility of this position, but some programming experience is necessary, with experience in object-oriented languages such as C++ or Java helpful. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are also necessary.
