Rothamsted Research, the UK’s oldest and largest agricultural research centre, is seeking a post-doctoral candidate with a background in soil chemistry or environmental sciences to join a team measuring and modelling the factors controlling nitrification and denitrification in a new, three-year project funded by the BBSRC.
The successful candidate is likely to have a PhD in environmental science, soil science or a related subject and have experience with analytical chemistry techniques especially gas chromatography and/or mass spectrometry. Experience of, or an interest in, mathematical modelling is also desirable.
The candidate should have strong team skills and good written and verbal communication skills, allowing him or her to develop broad-based research programs and convey results effectively.
This full time position is available for three years at Band D, with a starting salary normally in the region of £28,110 and £31,677 per annum.
