Description

Bristol Zoological Society is a conservation charity that works in 10 countries around the world in applied conservation and manages two zoos in the UK.  We also run a number of Higher Education programmes in collaboration with university/college partner institutions. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team with broad academic knowledge, experience and/or understanding of conservation or animal behaviour and welfare.  Experience in relevant research methods (conservation/ecology/animal behaviour or social research) and application of those methods is required. Your role will be crucial in helping us complete our mission of saving wildlife together and delivering excellent Higher Education programmes. The contract is for 5 days (37.5 hours)/week.

Main Responsibilities

HE Teaching and Supervision: The successful applicant will lead two modules (undergraduate or masters level) and supervise and mark research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level

Conservation or Animal Behaviour & Welfare Project Management: Contribute to the development and management of one of our conservation projects or captive animal behaviour and welfare projects, alongside the Head of the Field Conservation and Science Department.

There may be occasions when the post holder is requested to work in other company locations, or carry out other duties considered reasonable by the Society or its representatives
