Post Doctoral Research Associate (3 years)

 Salary: £32,200 - £35,000 per annum pro rata

 

WCS, Imperial College London and University College London are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to implement a 3-year research project funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) – Department for International Development (DFID) joint fund for poverty alleviation research, entitled “Measuring complex outcomes of environment and development interventions”. The project is at the cutting-edge of programme evaluation and aims to improve the implementation of policies in the environment-development sector through enhanced understanding of what works, based on more appropriate measurement of the impacts of interventions on the wellbeing of the poor. The project will be implemented in close collaboration with researchers from WCS in Cambodia and the University of Colorado in Tanzania.

 

You will take a leading role in developing and delivering research in close collaboration with WCS, Imperial and UCL research and academic staff.  You will also be expected to assist in producing independent and original research and publish the results in refereed journals. The position will be employed by WCS for three years, and will be based at Imperial College London and University College London. You will be expected to work closely with researchers in Cambodia, Tanzania, and potentially other countries, and travel to these countries in order to design and support the field research.

 

You must hold a PhD Anthropology, Economics, Conservation Science or a closely related discipline. Experience with social assessment of conservation or development interventions in developing countries.is essential. You must also have experience of working with other research scientists in multi-disciplinary projects, and working overseas.

 This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment available for up to 3 years.
