If you hold a recent PhD in a discipline and subject related to rural development, natural resource management or climate change and are interested in helping rural people adapt to climate change, this position is for you. You need to be a good team player, with strong research design and analysis skills and a broad systems perspective that spans social and natural sciences. You also need strong field research skills and an ability to work in close cooperation with farmers, fisherfolk and local government and NGO staff. If you have used action-research approaches in your work, we particularly want to hear from you. Based in Dhaka, you will spend a large proportion of the time at the CCAFS programme field sites in Khula District in coastal Bangladesh, but will also travel to other areas within the Indo-Gangetic Plains. The position is available at either postdoctoral level (PhD and up to 2 years postdoc experience) or scientist level (PhD and more than two years postdoc experience) depending on skills, experience and qualifications. Postdoctoral positions are for two years, scientist positions are for three. At either level, the contract is renewable subject to performance and institutional need. Promotion to scientist/senior scientist is also available.
