The Post-doctoral Fellow work will be integrated and supported by the GCS-REDD+ national REDD+ strategies component and will be attached to the Forests and Governance Programme. The Fellow will be responsible to the programme director and under immediate supervision of the component leader.

Requirements
Education, experience and technical skills
- PhD in the social science, preferably in political sciences, with expertise in comparative analysis of qualitative and quantitative data
- Experience in institutional analysis, policy analysis, governance, tenure and decentralisation.
- Deep understanding of climate and the REDD+ arena in Vietnam
- Have work experience in Vietnam
- Fluency in English required
- Experience in working with multiple partners and working in developing countries are preferred
Personal attributes and competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, experienced in working with multicultural and multidisciplinary research teams
- Excellent facilitation skills
- Have initiative and capable of working independently as well as in team environments
- Competency in personal organization, priority setting and managing multiple tasks
- Values the sharing of information and continuous improvement in a cooperative atmosphere of constructive evaluation and learning
Terms and Conditions
- CIFOR offers a competitive remuneration in USD and will be commensurate with skills and experience.
- The appointment will be for a period of two years with a possibility of extension contingent upon performance, continued relevance of the position and available resources.
- The duty station will be at the CIFOR headquarters in Hanoi, Vietnam.
