In this role, you will be part of our Portfolio Management team and you will be responsible for the procurement of carbon credits and renewable energy certificates (GoldPower RECs, GoOs, US RECs and I-RECs) to offer South Pole Group's (SPG) clients the highest quality and diversity of solutions.

 

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate and purchase carbon credits and renewable energy certificates, including the associated contracts and financial management
  • Draft written proposals for clients
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to optimise deliveries of our projects
  • Understand client needs, gather market intelligence and identify industry trends
  • Maintain and develop a network of suppliers
  • Work closely with suppliers to obtain the most suitable projects and develop customised solutions for our clients
  • Support, internally and externally, sales and marketing activities by providing information about products, projects, and processes
  • Manage and enhance systems for project information capture, storage and internal dissemination



Your profile

  • Higher level qualifications in a relevant field, as environmental management or sustainability, or a broader field with evidence of a focus on environmental or sustainability issues
  • Knowledge of carbon and/or renewable energy products and markets, preferably including experience and understanding of:
    • Project-based carbon standards, technologies and project development processes
    • Renewable energy certificate and greenpower products and markets
    • Global carbon and renewable energy reporting standards (e.g. CDP, GHG Protocol)
  • Proven commercial acumen and ability to negotiate purchase contracts
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, clients and team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to translate technical information appropriately for all the audiences
  • Investigative and creative skills
  • Legal or contract management skills are an asset
  • Excellent analytical skills, including high level of financial literacy, numeracy and competency with Excel
  • Experience working with information management systems
  • Commitment to climate change mitigation and broader sustainability objectives
  • Excellent written and oral command of English
