EUROCITIES is the political platform for major European cities. We network the local governments of over 136 of Europe’s largest cities and 40 partner cities. We engage in dialogue with the European institutions across a wide range of policy areas affecting cities.

The successful candidate for this position will coordinate projects in the field of climate change and energy in which EUROCITIES is involved. This will include projects like the Covenant of Mayors and Mayors’ Adapt. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the projects manager at the EUROCITIES Brussels Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall project management including work and budget planning
  • Contribute to policy development in the area of climate change and energy
  • Liaising with European and funding institutions and project partners
  • Delivering project tasks and deliverables due by EUROCITIES such as report drafting, publication management, event organization, and dissemination
  • Preparing technical and financial reports
  • Deliver other project work and project development in the area of climate change and energy in cooperation with the projects manager

Profile:

  • Successful track record of minimum 2 years work experience in the field of EU-funded project management
  • Experience of policy work in the area of climate change and energy
  • Experience of publications and event management
  • Experience of working with local/city governments or public sector partners
  • Experience of proposal writing an asset
  • Ability to speak English fluently and to write clear and concise reports in English; Good command of French required; other languages an asset
  • Excellent relationship management, coordination, and communications skills
  • Good networking abilities and interpersonal skills for an international environment

  • A one year contract, renewable, starting as soon as possible, ideally mid-April beginning of May  2015
