Responsibilities
  • Establishes site management teams that models Vestas values and high standards of performance.
  • Ensures site level safety practices and protocol are implemented at their sites in alignment with organizational standards and ensures compliance and optimal safety results with a team who demonstrate safe behaviors by everyone, every time, everywhere. Champions the journey to an incident, injury and illness free culture and environment. Maintains close partnership with the Health, Safety and Environment department.
  • Provides effective leadership that achieves highly aligned, engaged and motivated site management teams that produces high-level results against Key Performance Indicators and operational objectives. Ensures site management team members understand how their work relates to business objectives and mutual success with our customers.
  • Achieves a culture of Execution Excellence (safety focus, structure, work discipline) and continuous improvement with the site management organization to advance capability and performance in all operational areas. Makes recommendations for improving area work processes.
  • Promotes development, utilization, and improvement of Best Known Methods optimizing operational performance across site teams. Establishes a learning organization within the operation using Best Practices to maximize turbine equipment maintenance and performance.
  • Leads change management activity and initiatives with their site management teams.
  • Establishes and maintains highly effective relationships with the customer and internal partners. Pursues “ambassador” status with their customer(s) and sites that are focused on customer loyalty excellence.
  • Responsible for ensuring the tactical implementation of service strategic plans and initiatives at the sites for which they are responsible.
  • Responsible for the sites’ budgets, cost center management, and operational efficiencies (drives down cost/MWH). Establishes the most effective and efficient staffing model to meet operational objectives. Manages costs that impact the bottom line. Ensures implementation of initiatives that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for all employment matters at the site management level including hiring, employee relations, performance management, performance appraisals, etc.
  • Ensures service contract compliance.
  • Responsible for the master scheduling amongst the sites within their responsibility. This includes but is not limited to, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, CIM, crane mobilization and utilization in order to minimize costs, impact to customer and turbine availability, as well as the coordination of third party resources. Also includes ensuring that human resources are shared as required amongst their sites.
  • Responsible for liquidated damages mitigation and performance bonus maximization.
  • Ensures their sites remain in compliance with all relevant corporate policies and programs such as fleet vehicles, site documentation and employee training
  • Responsible for their sites’ management, effectiveness and efficient use of site assets (vehicles, equipment, tools, office, etc.).
  • Responsible for ensuring site management’s accurate documentation for billing and providing support for efficient accounts receivable.
  • Manages vendor and community relations for their sites.
  • Responsible for ensuring site management’s approval of site payroll expenses and site expenses within site and local purchasing authority.
  • Ensures site management updates and processes site data in a timely manner in the appropriate information systems for reporting and tracking purposes.
  • Maintain 365/24/7 management responsibility of their sites.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate accounting for site material usage.
  • Develops site management and site personnel skills and capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years’ experience as project manager, project lead, or other management experience, preferably in a related service, industrial or manufacturing setting. Demonstrated ability to build and lead a high performing team / operation.
  • Proven high standards and values.
  • Knowledge and experience with effective safety programs, practices and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership skills; demonstrated ability in coaching, mentoring, motivating and developing employees to achieve a highly aligned, motivated and engaged team. Converts strategy into action oriented objectives and communicates the direction with passion.
  • Effective change and conflict management. Proven decision making ability with balanced risk taking. Applies expertise to get results leveraging group interaction and areas of specialty.
  • Demonstrated success in the staffing and retention of employees with the required aptitude and attitude.
  • Highly self-driven with demonstrated accountability and ownership. Functions effectively under pressure in environments of rapid change and conflicting demands. Enjoys multi-tasking. Demonstrates a sense of urgency in meeting commitments.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and quality methodology skills. Effective issue resolution and structured problem solving methodology. Drives improvement in existing products and services to better meet customer needs.
  • Technical background, hydraulic or rotating heavy equipment preferred; knowledge of technical drawings and schematics. Ability to understand and utilize technical language.
  • Previous budgeting, cost management and scheduling experience. Background in business fundamentals and solid business financial knowledge preferred.
  • Experience scheduling, administering and managing projects to achieve successful outcome.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve Customer Loyalty Excellence through effective relationships and demonstration of value differentiation. Must have very effective negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Excellent English communications skills (verbal, active listening, written, meeting management, presentation).
  • Valid driver’s license, passport and ability to travel as needed to meet business objectives.
  • Strong PC computer skills (MS Office) required, SAP knowledge highly preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, hearing ability to use close range radios, visual acuity including depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors, ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed, as well as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to climb ladders to heights of 60 to 150 meters and supervise work in confined space environments.
  • Ability to hold certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest & High Angle Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
