WWF UK leads an innovative EC LIFE+ project based around the Celtic Sea, “Partnerships Involving Stakeholders in the Celtic Sea Ecosystem (PISCES)” The project started in 2009 and will continue until 2012, in partnership with The Environment Council and WWF Spain. This is a complex project working across a very diverse range of stakeholders, cultures and national boundaries in order to develop a common understanding of the ecosystem approach among stakeholders and collaboratively produce and share guidelines for sustainable actions in the Celtic Sea region. You will provide PISCES partners and beneficiaries with expertise on marine policy, in particular on the ecosystem approach; EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive and Integrated Maritime Policy; Marine Spatial Planning and marine management in general. You will ensure an active dialogue across the project to enhance technical understanding; be the principle technical contact point for UK government and stakeholders and work closely with the Country Technical Leads in Spain, France and Eire. You will also deputise for the Project Manager as and when necessary. You will bring significant experience to the post in marine policy and stakeholder liaison, along with excellent analytic, strategic and diplomacy skills.
