Description |
Photographer volunteer needed to produce high-quality images of conservation and rural development projects for the Galo Plaza Lasso Foundation. The Foundation works in sustainable development in an indigenous community in the Andes Mountains in the north of Ecuador.
Our development projects mainly focus on education, conservation and/or socioeconomic development, including, for example, condor conservation, the village library, community tourism and a women’s cooperative producing traditional hand-embroidered clothing and other items. We need more attention-catching images for our website and other promotional materials in order to raise awareness, promote our work, attract donors and sell products including embroidered goods and tourist experiences.
Subjects to photograph will include both captive and wild Andean condors, traditional embroidery designs, community education projects (sustainable, organic agriculture as well as more academic subjects), beautiful rural scenery, scientific research into wildlife of the páramo (high grasslands), wild Andean bears if you are lucky, daily life in a traditional farming community and anything else that catches your eye or seems necessary for promoting our work.
Volunteer photographers must be talented and capable of taking professional-quality photos of a broad range of subjects. Life in a developing country can be unpredictable, so we’re looking for adaptable photographers who will cheerfully make the most of whatever opportunities arise and take challenges in their stride. Minimum age: 20. Spanish language skills useful but not essential. |
