The Ideal Candidate:

As a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and organisational skills, you will enjoy the challenge of working at the interface of scientific research and industrial challenges. You will be technically talented, with a willingness to embrace team working.  You will be flexible and motivated to deliver to customer requirements.  You will have an eye for detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.

The role:

You will provide the technical lead as part of a scientific team, with responsibility for the production of 3D models of offshore structures using photogrammetry.  Using existing software (e.g. Agisoft metashape, Blender), you will be innovative and work towards optimising modelling capabilities.  You will be expected to actively engage with novel methods of automated identification and assessment of marine growth.  The role has scope to be involved with development of 3D modelling within SAMS.

Other duties include training, writing reports and documents and technical input to tenders and scientific publications.  There may also be opportunities for field survey work.

Support:

You will have support from SAMS Science, Enterprise and ICT areas to assist you in meeting the requirements of the role.

SAMS Enterprise unit provides excellent customer satisfaction.  You will continue this ethos, ensuring you are able to meet customer needs to a high standard under the scope of SRSL’s ISO9001 certified Quality Management System.
