Description
National Wildlife Federation is seeking a top-notch Philanthropy Officer who will be responsible for obtaining both restricted and unrestricted gifts at the 25K+ level. The primary emphasis is on the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of new and existing NWF donors and prospects that will support the Keeping Out Wild Alive philanthropy region.
Responsibilities:
Cultivate, solicit and steward existing NWF donors as well as identify and assess the potential of individuals who make outright or planned gifts. The Philanthropy Officer coordinates their own fundraising trips in addition to coordinating fundraising trips for senior staff as appropriate throughout the region.
Maintain hard files, electronic donor files, prospect management-related information, and administrative reporting as appropriate.
Develop and communication to donors a thorough understanding of NWF’s conversation and education programs and projects of special interest. Maintain familiarity with current and local, regional and national environmental issues. Work with national and regional offices to coordinate donor cultivation meetings and events.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree
Experience/Skills:
Minimum seven years experience in fundraising or related field with emphasis on major and/or planned gift cultivation and solicitation.
Working knowledge of Windows environment.
Experience and/or aptitude to learn Raisers Edge
Ability to work well with others
Self motivated with a proven ability to meet accountability metrics from a remote work environment
Excellent written and oral skills including a keen ability to listen.
Excellent analytical, strategic and problem solving ability
Ability to work well individually or with a team
Knowledge of and passion for nature conservation
