About the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is a nonprofit health organization dedicated to saving and improving lives through good nutrition, advanced medical research, and public policy advocacy. Our vision is to create a healthier world through a new emphasis on disease prevention, plant-based nutrition, and scientific research conducted ethically, without using animals.

Since 1985, the Physicians Committee has been working for alternatives to tests on animals and advocating for more effective and efficient scientific methods. Our staff of physicians, dietitians, and scientists is working with policymakers, industry, the medical community, the media, and the public to create a better future for people and animals. We invite you to visit our YouTube channel, our website, and Physicians Committee president Dr. Neal Barnard’s blog.

About this Internship Opportunity

The Physicians Committee’s Research and Regulatory Affairs team finds and implements science, policy and training-based solutions to modernize testing while reducing and replacing the use of animals in tests conducted by pesticide, chemical, drug, and cosmetic companies.

Interns may also have the opportunity to participate in staff education sessions, journal article discussions, internal and external scientific and/or policy meetings, and other Physicians Committee events. All interns will receive a full-day orientation at the start of their internship and ongoing support from their staff mentor.
