This position will support required water chemistry & water treatment at the plants, chemical treatment for cooling water systems, raw water and wastewater treatment, and Demineralized water treatment.
 
  • Lead in water chemistry problem analysis & problem solving, and decision-making
  • Respond to requests to support the plants in all areas of water management and chemistry to meet the goals and objectives of FPL Power Generation Division
  • Ability to develop and monitor water chemistry processes and procedures 
  • Drive behaviors for the identification and assessment of water, chemical treatment, water chemistry and wastewater improvement
  • Ensure adherence to water chemistry parameters 
  • Adherence to environmental permit and regulations regarding water discharges and recommended chemical usage.
Qualifications
 
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree.  A Degree in Chemistry/Biology/Chemical Engineering is preferred
  • Prefer at least one (1) year of experience with Power Plants or at least (2)  years of experience in water chemistry/water treatment/chemistry processes or Demineralization knowledge
  • Familiar with environmental permits and regulations
  • Experience and knowledge of Waste Water equipment and treatment processes, Chemical treatment and chemical treatment systems 
  • Familiar with environmental permits and regulations
  • Familiar with quality processes, Quality Assurance/Quality Control and development of chemistry processes and procedures
  • Prefer verbal/written skills as well as computer skills in Word, Excel and Power Point
