Change Agents UK is pleased to be working with Opportunity Peterborough and University Centre Peterborough to deliver the Peterborough Graduate Scheme (PGS), which forms part of the Peterborough DNA programme.
What is it?
Peterborough DNA is the name for the ‘Future Cities Demonstrator Programme’. This is funded by the Technology Strategy Board. Peterborough DNA is made up of four different strands, with the PGS forming part of the ‘Skills for our future’ strand. PGS will enable local businesses to take advantage of the opportunity to employ a graduate for 6 months without incurring their full salary. In September 2014 12 graduate placements will be starting in businesses based in the city.
The businesses are all located, or have a registered office, within the Peterborough Unitary Authority boundary. The placements are linked to sustainability and will run for 6 months from 1st September 2014. The placements will have a positive impact on the company's environmental performance or contribute to one or more of the One Planet Living themes. Change Agents UK will run the recruitment process and then employ the graduates and assist with training and supporting the graduates whilst they are on placement.
The scheme links with the three other strands of the Peterborough DNA Programme (Innovation Pool, City Metabolism and Living Data). This puts the graduates directly in touch with all of the activities across the city relating to Peterborough DNA, giving them networking opportunities.
