Perthshire Reserves Seasonal Ranger

Duration: 7 March - 30 September

This post is based at the popular Loch of the Lowes wildlife reserve, near Dunkeld. In addition to working at the Loch of the Lowes, the post holder will be required to assist with the management of five other SWT reserves in Perthshire and to liaise with local communities, schools and the local SWT member centre. The main responsibilities are:

* Organising and maintaining the 24 hour osprey security watch.
* Managing and supporting volunteers.
* Undertaking species and habitat monitoring on reserves.
* Co-ordinating and implementing practical conservation tasks on reserves.
* Assisting with running the visitor centre and general visitor management.
* Membership recruitment.

The post holder requires good verbal and written communication skills (including report writing and public speaking). He/she will be self motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of the local area and of conservation issues in Perthshire would be advantageous. A current UK driving licence is essential.
