Description

WCMC is now recruiting a Partnerships Manager - Digital Solutions (Fixed Term (24 Month) Contract) to work together with UNEP-WCMC and its partners IUCN and BirdLife International. This role aims to increase the value of various spatially explicit global biodiversity datasets currently compiled and managed by the three organisations.

As the Partnerships Manager, reporting to the Director of Partnerships and Development at UNEP-WCMC and with oversight from the three partner organisations, you will ensure that such digital solutions 1) make the best and most appropriate use of the data for which these organisations are custodians, 2) are fit for purpose and used by the decision-makers they target and 3) contribute to the sustainability of the underlying datasets as global public goods, thereby furthering the mission and strategic goals of each organisation.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of biodiversity data and its potential for use by decision-makers combined with strong diplomacy and negotiation skills and proven success in partnership development and fundraising.  With great ideas and an affinity for technology, an eye for detail and a good instinct for seeing opportunities, he or she will have a flair for marketing and promotion and the drive to see things through to a successful outcome.  He or she will also have demonstrable experience in environmental/geo-spatial analysis and/or digital data-driven decision support services.  First-hand knowledge of the international biodiversity conservation community and/or intergovernmental science-policy arena and/or use of environmental data within corporate decision making would be a distinct advantage.

To apply, please complete a WCMC application form and send it together with your CV and a short covering letter to by clicking through the link below by 16th January 2016.
