Legal Assistance to EFD Funds

The EFD paralegal and fund associate is expected to provide timely assistance to the legal advisors and other fund staff with the development and closing of Global Conservation Fund (GCF) long-term financing transactions, Verde Ventures (VV) loan transactions and Carbon Fund transactions. Responsibilities include:

  • assisting in the preparation of legal documentation (term sheets, requests for proposals, MOUs, grant and loan agreements, memoranda, correspondence);
  • assisting with due diligence review of grantees and borrowers;
  • taking notes at meetings and keeping track of important deadlines;
  • filing and organizing documents;
  • undertaking research;
  • maintaining and update closing checklists;
  • preparing deal summaries for staff;
  • providing support in the acquisition of local counsel (researching local firms, drafting RFPs, drafting RFP charts to compare the various firms)
  • corresponding with  local counsel regarding document preparation and invoices; and
  • completing disbursements (collecting Conditions Precedents, liaising with Accounting General regarding disbursement)
