The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is in the process of implementing a new Land Information System. As a result there is a requirement for an individual to support the data conversion exercise. Some data will be automatically converted from existing databases and spreadsheets, but a significant portion of the data required by the system is not stored in a structured digital form. Some of the data required is currently stored in paper files; other data is stored digitally in word documents or excel spreadsheets. This information will need to be sourced, reviewed, interpreted and data transferred into an interim MS Access database. In addition to data migration responsibilities, the Summer Intern will have the option to spend some of their time with Mhairi McFarlane, Conservation Biologist for NCC’s southwestern Ontario subregion. This opportunity will include field visits to NCC properties and work such as plant and wildlife inventory, invasive species removal and seed collection/planting. Job Responsibilities:
