Marketing and Communications Intern – Energy Saving Scotland advice centre South East (Ref: MCI)

The Energy Saving Scotland advice centre for South East Scotland is offering a summer internship to support the Marketing Manager in producing a bank of ‘exemplar homes’ case studies covering a range of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. In addition there will be the opportunity to assist in a review of communications templates within the advice centre.

 The project is likely to require three week’s worth of work, but this can be worked flexibly to suit the successful candidate across a five week period, during the advice centre’s opening hours of Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 9am to 5pm. The successful candidate will have exemplary spoken and written communications skills in order to interview customers over the telephone and then write up their case study using an agreed template. The ability to understand and work to our tone and language guidelines is essential.  The aim of our communications is to inspire people to take action so the writing style must be clear, friendly and informative, not overly technical or ‘flowery’.  An interest in energy efficiency and renewable technologies is desirable but not essential. The post would be well suited to final year students or recent graduates of disciplines such as Marketing, Communications, Journalism or Environmental Sciences.
