The Pigeon Key Foundation, a 501(c) not-for-profit, is looking for desirable candidates for their 2013 education season. The internship runs from the end of February 2013 through mid August 2013. Possibility of full-time employment does exist to hired interns who demonstrate a superior ability at the position. Internship provides food, weekly stipend and on-island housing.
Interested applicants must have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in marine biology, biology, ecology, education, conservation, environmental science, or other related degree. The successful candidate should be familiar with/have an interest in marine ecosystems, be a good swimmer, have the ability to speak articulately and confidently in front of a group, and be willing to cook, clean and work long hours including many weekends. The successful candidate should have teaching experience or express an affinity toward educating students. Marine Science Education Intern Responsibilities: **this list is not exhaustive but will give interested applicants a better idea of what jobs will be required of them and in what proportion. Anyone WITHOUT an interest in conducting any of the work below SHOULD NOT apply**
Qualifications: - A degree in marine biology, biology, ecology, education, conservation, or environmental science are preferred. - Capability of working well with other people in a small-work environment -Computer skills are preferred but not required. |
