PA to CEO, London

ClientEarth is a non-profit environmental law, science and policy organisation with offices in London, Brussels, and Warsaw. We provide dedicated public-interest legal capacity, working with environmental NGOs and other stakeholders and acting as legal advocates for environmental objectives. We work at a policy and legislative level to lobby for strong laws and policies that protect the environment, and we pursue litigation that supports our strategic objectives. Our work centres on the development and execution of clear strategies and productive partnerships to ensure our actions to protect the human right to a clean and healthy environment have maximum impact.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Personal Assistant to join our team in London. In this exciting position, you will gain valuable experience working in a vibrant and growing international organisation dedicated to protecting the environment. You will be primarily responsible for providing essential, proactive organisational support to the CEO in all ClientEarth matters both internally and externally.  To be the main point of contact for all members of the Board of Trustees, and to also look after the Senior Management Team (SMT) on various levels.  The role covers a range of responsibilities to ensure the smooth running of the organisation and that the CEO and SMT can perform their work as efficiently and smoothly as possible.

Working relationships

You will report directly to the CEO. You will work very closely with the CEO, SMT and ClientEarth Trustees and benefactors around the world.

About the role and responsibilities

The successful applicant will be required to fulfil a broad and interesting range of duties, including:

  • Manage the CEO’s diary to ensure effective scheduling of meetings, events and activities;
  • Support the CEO with ad-hoc research on a broad range of environmental topics;
  • Organise and manage ClientEarth events, including: fundraising events; staff summer party; Christmas party;
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation and logistics for the SMT
  • Act as a point of contact for internal and external enquiries in relation to the CEO;
  • Construct meeting agendas and take minutes;
  • Responsible for ClientEarth UK Governance, including organise board meetings and board book; first point of contact for trustees and patrons; ensure filing of official documentation with the Charity commission and Companies' House

Qualification & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role (essential)
  • Relevant international experience (desirable).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organisational skills and efficient management of multiple tasks and priorities;
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with ability to foster positive working relationships with diverse internal and external actors;
  • Diplomacy and ability to deal with confidential information on a regular basis;
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to execute work independently and proactively;
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and databases);
  • Ability and willingness to travel, nationally and/or internationally.

Start date

As soon as possible in October

Salary

£24,000-£34,000 depending on experience
