The Oyster Conservation Coordinator will assist the Director of Marine Science & Conservation with all aspects of oyster conservation activities.  The primary responsibilities will be to manage shell handling for oyster reef construction and to coordinate a community volunteer program for growing oysters on private docks.  Tasks include shell processing, hatchery assistance, reef monitoring, volunteer coordination and training, data collection, tracking of program results, and formulating reports.  Some tasks require physical exertion and occasional work in the water.  Strong interpersonal skills and excellent organizational skills are essential.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Experience with shellfish aquaculture required.
• Successful experience coordinating and working with volunteers required.
• Small boat operation experience, a plus.
• Coordinating information from multiple sources into databases including data entry and report production.
• Completing tasks independently within assigned timeframes.
• Experience managing and prioritizing tasks from multiple sources.
• Performing administrative duties emphasizing detail-oriented and numerical tasks.
• Working knowledge of common software applications (e.g.; Word, Excel, Web browsers).
• Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English.
